No owner inscrptn and minus dw/dj.Publisher's bright,generally clean and generally sharp-cornered,original plain pale green/jade cloth boards with bright,crisp, blocked maroon lettered title to front board's top,right-hand corner; spine/backstrip with similarly coloured+ lettered title as the front's,illustrator's capitalised,similarly coloured+lettered name at head of same and publisher's capitalised maroon lettered name to foot of same,rear panel plain pale green without illustration or text and.Negligible shelf-wear, bumping to edges and corner - no nicks,tears or splits presentfront board's edges and spine/backstrip lightly dulled,plain white endpapers with faint,minimal blemish.Top+fore-edges unsually bright and clean with inevitable but minimal age-acquired toning - no foxing/spotting; contents too,remarkably bright,crisp and clean,text block virtually foxing-free and fine - with better quality paper stock - near pristine,no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips,possibly unread,other than my own collation.UK,slim Qrto HB minus dw/dj,illustrated 3rd reprint,5-144pp [paginated] includes a Contents list/table,Pts I & II comprising 8 sections of children's themed pastel colour watercolours and b/w illustrations by James H. Dowd,depicting scenes at the seaside,parks,skating rinks,dancing academies,and more,with text by Brenda E. Spender; plus [unpaginated] half-title page,and colour illustrated title page.                    Visually the exterior appearance is more than acceptable and even particularly internally,is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of its near 60 year-old age.It is only the faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite that,it really is still an exemplary example for its cleanliness, brightness and lack of major detracting faults.  James H. Dowd (1884-1956.) Draughtsman,etcher and painter,particularly known for his depictions of children.'Important People', 'People of Importance',collections of fluent, stylish pencil drawings of children and babies, were widely admired and had considerable influence during the 1930s.He began contributing to Punch in 1906 and later became the magazine's first film cartoonist,until he was succeeded by R.S. Sheriffs in 1948.He lived in London.        Brenda Elizabeth Spender a British author. She is probably best known for her series of sketches about childhood,illustrated by notable artist J. H.
